21 October 2015. This is the date to which Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel in the colossally popular 1980s movie Back To The Future II. How many of the things they predicted in the movie came true?

They got the swarm of flying cars wrong. Too bad, but we have screens everywhere today, electronic connectivity, augmented reality, cosmetic surgery and a great slice of our global population has lived through a technology and lifestyle revolution.

Rarely our world has seen the volume of game-changing shifts it will experience between now and the next couple of decades. Some transformations are apparent already. But what will the “Deeper Future” hold for us?

The upcoming TEDxBrussels event will be built around this theme. World-class speakers will gather in the heart of Europe to spread great ideas about the deeper future of technology, entertainment, design, social life and nature.

The twist in terms of the date of the event is that it will no longer take place in winter but in spring, on 14 March 2016.

But wait, there’s more. We are shifting from a theatre to…a brewery.

Try searching for the ‘beer capital of the world’ and Google will throw up everything from Munich to Portland. Yet beer nerds know that Belgium has one of the greatest diversity of original beer styles on the planet. Hence, this year we will take over the ‘Brussels Event Brewery’. This old bottlery of the former Bellevue Brewery is already a well-known temple for creativity.

Make sure you stay with us, as there will be surprises along the way. Join the conversation online.

Registrations will open in the coming weeks.
